I'm having a little issue where I login as admin with phpmagic plus and It keeps telling me to login. I see it's made the tables...but i only see guest in the user list. I can't seem to login period. I've used admin admin and I'm going to try and delete everything and try again. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Never had that problem. Perhaps a fresh start would be a good idea.

I used phpadmin and removed the database (dropped tables), removed everything about it and set it backup again.

Simple Table - 4 fields 1 key

Generated the code.

FTP'd the files to the webserver.

Ran the setup.php file...

After the install with no error messages i get to the admin login.

I get to this point and it just keeps asking me for the username/password over and over. Doesn't tell me it's wrong...just doesn't advance to the admin configuration/settings. In the help file it says use... admin / admin

So I went and looked in the sql tables...i see they have been created successfully.

Now the interesting part is when I look in the table of users. I'm signing in with admin / admin...but...

So now I don't see admin/admin I see Guest...but no admin. So I'm not quite sure if I'm supposed to but any help would be appreciated.

Running MYSQL Version: 5.0.77

Thanks in Advance...

Hi -

Look in your admin folder for a file named incCommon.php (it won't be in the db) Next look for this line:

fwrite($fp, "\$adminConfig['adminUsername']='admin';\n\t");
fwrite($fp, "\$adminConfig['adminPassword']='21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3';\n\t");

It's about 30 rows down. Make sure the hashed password above matches. This is admin/admin

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately that did not seem to be the issue. It appears to be the same one in the incCommon.php file.

It just sits there - not giving an error message. But it won't advance into the Admin Screens. However, if you type an invalid username/password combo it will tell you that is incorrect.

Furthermore, If you use the register link it tells me that the admin has disabled the ability to register. I don't remember ever seeing an option for that.

Crickets. Is there no formal support for this product other then the forums?

I'm really wanting to use this product...but as of present I am unable able to install the product and use it....I don't mind doing a little work on this, however, I have no idea where to start...

Does anyone know who's running the show here?

We are trying to help you. None of us have had this problem though. It's sometimes hard to diagnose without access either. What is the url to the admin page?

No I have not tried another browser...I can't imagine that everyone using phpmagic plus has to use another browser other then internet explorer. So, see if this helps or you think it's ok...... What I'll do is:

1st - Try another browser program. (Not really acceptable, everyone that will access the app has to have another browser installed?) That would limit the ability to host the phpmagic plus app and limit the access to it.

2nd - Try a local install of WAMP? OR is there a document somewhere that says what the requirements of MYSQL are with regards to PHPMagic Plus...

3rd - I'll setup everything, give you the url, let you have at it....I've uninstalled, deleted, removed the tables about 5 times now....same situation every time. You try to login via the admin panel and it doesn't give you an error, it just doesn't move on.

Thanks for your response.
