1) The table display of one of my table maintenance pages is very wide because there are many columns. Users find it annoying that they have to scroll to the right every time they want to hit the "next" button on the table footer. Is there a way to move the "next" button further to the left, maybe next to the "previous" button? The only place I can find reference to these buttons in the generated scripts is in the datalist.php script, and I don't know where to make the change.
2) This has to do with filters. Let's say User A wants to see one subset of Table A table every time he logs in. User B wants to see a different subset of Table A every time she logs in. Can you suggest a way that I can do this? I was thinking of maybe making different copies of mytable_view.php with different SQL selections and a menu option for each, but that could be cumbersome if there are 10 users. Can anyone suggest a way to selectively pick a filtered view from a table? In other words, the menu option shows a table of users, and when a user is clicked on their table view selected with their filter appears.
Hi - I can offer suggestions for question 1.
The table view really only needs to show only pertinent fields to quickly identify a record. Once a record is selected all fields all displayed in the table view. Take a look at the column widths you hAve defined in PHPMagic. This can take some tweaking to get it just right depending on styles, font sizes etc. So perhaps hide some fields in the table view for the table to narrow the width of display.
